I travelled to London this afternoon to pick up my visa and was given my passport... lacking a visa. My visa application has been 'referred to competent authorities in India' and could take a minimum of six weeks to arrive. We fly tomorrow. Bummer.
At the training weekend, Ama had a picture about God's power moving through systems and governments. My visa will not arrive in time through human systems. Fact. But God is bigger than the Indian High Commission. He is bigger than visas. In the wise words of Mr. Ian Tilley "God created the world in six days, what's a visa?"
A couple of weeks ago, Pete Grieg did an amazing talk about prayer at Prayer Saturated Life. He spoke a bit about Daniel 3:16-18
16 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. 17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us[a] from Your Majesty’s hand.18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up. ”
Faith says "Our God can do miracles, he will do miracles". Faithfulness says "but if He doesn't we will not bow the knee to any other but Him"
I'd appreciate your prayers tomorrow - my Dad and I are planning on heading to the Indian High Commission in London to see what God can do.
Our God can get my visa, He will get my visa, but if He doesn't we will not bow the knee to any other but Him.
Have a nice day!
- Jo
